HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan

Posted in Champions | 02-Feb-13

The Islamic Rose, Queen Rania, is an icon of the promotion of mutual tolerance and respect in the hotly debated Holy Land, working on the Jordan side of the river which gave her land its name.

Born in 1970 in Kuwait as the daughter of refugees from Palestine, Rania and her family were forced out by the invasion of Saddam Hussein and moved to Amman, were she met prince Abdullah in 1993 and married him the same year. Together they have four children.

She combines beauty with wisdom and courage. Her position in favor of an open vision of traditional Islam makes her a woman much alike the first beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad, Khadijah. Without her support for younger Mohammed, who only because of her wealth and work could concentrate on God, there would be no Islam. The mother of Islam was an emancipated woman. The rose of Islam worthy to have this title is Rania. She is the most charming Champion of Tolerance

More about her can be found at her official website, www.queenrania.jo.
